Big Elm Nursing and Retirement Centers are located on the border of Concord and Kannapolis and just seconds from the hospital, your localphysician's offices, and the new Research Campus. We are a facility committed to caring and excelllence in service.
Big Elm is comprised of an 80-bed Independent Assisted Living Center and a 66-bed Skilled Nursing Center (50 skilled and 16 Assisted Living) that allows us to ensure that your loved ones will not have to change locations.
So what separates us from all the rest?
We are a family-owned facility where you will actually be able to see and talk with the owner of the facility. We also have the smallest skilled nursing facility in the area that allows us to closely monitor our residents with good staffing ratios and shorter hallways that most long-term care faiclities that makes for a safe and quaint enviroment. Our award winning therapy department allows for many of our residents to go back home after a short stay.
Big Elm Retirement Center:
Big Elm Retirement Center offers a vast array of services to our geriatric population. The Retirement Center has dedicated employees with longevity and skills. Our employees are Certified Med-Tech's and Certified Nursing Assistants. Our Director at the Retirement Center is a Licensed Practical Nurse, which enables our residents to feel at ease with the care given. Big Elm Retirement Center offers care for those who need assistance with their care but yet are not at the level requiring skilled nursing. We offer the following in our retirement center:

1. 24 hour supervision and medication assistance
2. Enhanced Care for assistance with ADL's (dressing, bathing, and tolieting)
3. Therapy Services(Physical, Occupational and Speech)
4. Medicaid Accepted
5. Medicaid Assistance(with application)

7. Pharmacy Services
8. Religious and Spiritual Programs
9. Dietary Services
10. Laundry and Housekeeping Services
