he Haven in the Village at Carolina Place, an Alzheimer’s and dementia care residence is nestled near the heart of Pineville, North Carolina. We are adjacent to Carolina Place Mall and are close to the upscale Ballantyne area. Other surrounding communities include Fort Mill, SC, Indianland, SC and Waxhaw, NC. The Haven is also conveniently located approximately 10 miles from the Dell Webb Community of Sun City Carolina Lakes..

The Haven is an assisted living residence designed, programmed and staffed for individuals with early, middle and late stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia. Tailored to enhance dignity and foster independence, The Haven offers a progressive approach which encourages family participation through care planning, education, special events and support groups. The Gathering, a family support group lead by family members dealing with the effects of memory impairment meets monthly (call for dates/times.)

The Haven is proud to announce our partnership with an in-house therapy provider, Genesis Rehabilitation. Genesis Rehabilitation Services provides physical, occupational and speech therapy to our residents. They have been providing these programs and services for individuals for nearly 20 years. They encourage our residents and their families to be included in the planning and rehabilitation process.

Our 2009 initiation is, “Our Village, Your Community.” Join us as we work with our local businesses and civic groups to become an integral part of our community.

At The Haven, we have created a unique layout featuring a Public House and a Resident House to enhance the safety and dignity of our residents. We believe this and many other exclusive features work together to offer the best environment currently available for both the resident and their family.

Residents at The Haven live in one of three neighborhoods. Each neighborhood is specifically programmed and staffed to address the care needs of those with either beginning, middle or advanced stages of memory impairment. The apartments in each neighborhood surround the neighborhood commons which is designed for social and recreational activities with a living room, dining room and activity area.

Each neighborhood has a landscaped courtyard with a screened porch, raised planting beds for easy gardening activity, and a walking path. Each of The Haven’s apartments is a well-planned, customized environment providing residents with a simplified home. Visual cues such as two-toned toilets give added confidence to residents whose depth perception may have diminished. In addition, The Haven features bathing spas with specially designed showers and whirlpool tubs.
